Next Sunday we will celebrate Global Ministries Sunday where we will learn about some of the work being done around the world that is supported by our church. One of those ministries is Corazon de Esperanza (CdE), an organization that helps Peruvian youths transition from poverty to independence. The president of CdE, Robyn Hanson, provides a story below that illustrates how one of the girls that is currently in our program is being supported by RLC. Jhudit's story of hope is one of many:
Jhudit radiates kindness and resilience as she finds joy living with the other girls in the transitional home, all while uncovering God’s unique plan for her life.Raised in the mountains of Peru, Jhudit grew up in a humble home with dirt floors and no running water. Her family of seven shared a single bedroom, and her parents struggled to make ends meet as housekeepers on a farm.In search of better opportunities, her parents sent her to live with an uncle. The situation turned abusive, leaving Jhudit frail and traumatized. She finally found her way to an orphanage where she spent the next four years. At just 18 years old, Jhudit faced a daunting reality - she was aging out and had nowhere to go. Her family had severed contact, and she felt utterly alone. Thanks to your support, Jhudit found refuge in our transitional home, where she has discovered not just safety but also God's love and plan for her life. She has a special gift for working with young children and aspires to become an elementary school teacher.Jhudit is an example of healing and hope, inspiring everyone around her to believe and pursue their dreams.Thank you for your generosity, which has made an impact on Jhudit's life and the lives of many other young people in our program. There is hope in this world, and I am so grateful that you are a part of this. Thank you for standing with and praying for these youths. You make a difference.
